No \u2013 they remain active in autumn and winter as well. MSD Animal Health\u2019s experts discussed the fact that tick season lasts all year round during a media breakfast. Although the number of ticks attacking dogs in November or December is higher than in August, most pet owners in Poland still believe they are most common in summer. This contrast between the scientifical research results and owners\u2019 awareness particularly interested journalists gathered on 25 November in Warsaw.<\/p>\n<p>A lack of regular, year-round protection can expose dogs and cats to serious diseases such as anaplasmosis, Lyme disease, babesiosis, and ehrlichiosis. That is why MSD Animal Health, a global provider of innovative veterinary medicines, is sharing research results confirming the need to raise awareness of antiparasitic prevention among pet owners.<\/p>\n<p>Even though 76% of pet owners in Poland consider antiparasitic protection a key part of care, actions do not always follow declarations: 46% of cat owners and 38% of dog owners forget to regularly protect their animals.
