Working with a PR agency – is it worth it?

13.12. 2018

We usually work with companies that have been using the support of communication agencies for years. This time it was different. Encon-Koester, the organizer of the Cobotic Forum (16th October 2018, Wrocław), decided to entrust the communication activities to an external partner for the first time ever, choosing the Omega Communication agency. We discussed the process and its evaluation with Robert Gałązka, the Development Director at Encon-Koester.

It was already the second edition of the Cobotic Forum. Why did you make the decision to cooperate with an agency this time around?

The decision was made based on the conclusions from the first edition of the Forum. Professional preparation of this type of event, on such a large scale, requires coordinated and consistent communication activities. Our internal marketing department does not have an adequate experience in this field, or the amount of resources that could deal with individual parts of the project in the context of marketing and PR activities – hence the decision to cooperate with an external company. We wanted to focus on acquiring the largest possible number of practical cobotic applications to present to our guests and thus decided to hand over the communication activities to an external partner.

How do you evaluate the way the communication was prepared?

I should start by saying that at the very beginning of our cooperation, Omega Communication identified our needs related to the organization of the Forum and adapted the PR and marketing activities plan accordingly. The communication program was prepared in a very thoughtful way, and its  implementation went smoothly and in accordance with a previously agreed schedule. We should also emphasize the understanding of technical issues and the knowledge of the robotics industry that the agency has shown. From our perspective, a vital role was played by the team dedicated to implementation of this task, that took care of the smallest details in consultation with us.

Did anything surprise you? Was anything different than anticipated?

The range of information about the Cobotic Forum, the number of publications and interviews was a surprise for us. It was a very positive surprise, as at the beginning of our cooperation, we did not expect to reach such a wide audience. During our cooperation there was a moment when (based on the obtained statistics and analyses) the information channels needed to be slightly modified, but also in this case Omega Communication showed professionalism, suggesting a change in the communication strategies, in order to ultimately reach the desired recipients. It is also important that evaluation and optimization of the activities was being carried out at every stage of the project. I think that flexible approach and continuous monitoring of the outcomes was one of the factors that influenced the eventual success of the project.

What were the outcomes of the cooperation?

Before proceeding to the evaluation of the cooperation results, I would like to point out once again the main purpose of the conference, which was raising awareness of entrepreneurs that cooperative robotics is one of the main factors influencing quality, flexibility and efficiency of production and thus the competitiveness of enterprises. If I were to provide numbers, more than 100 qualitative publications appeared after the event in print, on the radio and on the Internet. Several video coverages were also made, as well as interviews in key media, including local ones, which is particularly important for us as a company from Wrocław.

Was it a good/viable move from your point of view?

In retrospect, I can say that the cooperation with the agency was a very good decision. The conference turned out to be an event that brought together over 200 experts from industry, production, robotics and automation. I think that the division of tasks consisting in leaving the activities with the partners, as well as supervision of the technical and substantive side of the event inside the company and commissioning all communication activities externally was a good solution – everyone was working in the area of their specialization.

The AEC industry can be more efficient with the cloud

10.12.2018

Digital transformation changes each of industries. One of the leading trends in this revolution is cloud using. Predictions of reducing costs, increasing the efficiency and quality of processes through the cloud use in the construction industry are promising. Collaboration, coordination and management have always been a huge challenge in building projects (a large number of distributed data and independent entities involved in the process).  It becomes much simpler now thanks to the BIM360 introduced by Autodesk.
These issues were discussed during Autodesk conference “Building in the Cloud – cooperation in planning, designing and management”, which took place on November 28 in Warsaw. The event was attended by over 200 people: architects, investors and contractors on the construction market. Participants had the opportunity to get familiar with the Autodesk strategy, the experiences of companies that already use BIM360 from Poland and Europe, as well as talk to experts. The conference was accompanied by an exhibition of innovative solutions for the architectural and construction industry.

Omega Communication was responsible for organizing the event and communication activities. “We have been working with Omega Communication for such events for years, appreciating both the knowledge of the AEC market as well as experience in managing conference projects.” – says Grażyna Kołodziejek, Marketing Manager at Autodesk.

BIM 360 for AEC – Autodesk press meeting

15.11.2018

Is AEC industry ready to go to cloud? What kind of benefits gives Autodesk cloud platform BIM 360? These were the topics of the round table meeting which Autodesk organized on 15th of November in Warsaw for business and AEC media. Autodesk presented a long term strategy and the new solution – BIM 360 platform enabling users to increase the efficiency of the whole investment process – starting from planning, through design, construction, up to servicing of the ready to use building. Maciej Smolinski, BIM Coordinator in Skanska, was a guest speaker. Skanska is one of the first companies in Poland using BIM 360, they apply it to majority of their projects.

Polish student on the ecological relay race route

25.10. 2018

Ola Buszmak – 21 year old student from Poznan together with César González Cruz from Mexico, took part in the 10th edition of eneloop ambassadors’ tour. During this ecological relay race, they traveled 560 km on bicycles from Cologne to Munich. The goal was to build environmental awareness and support the protection of endangered species of flora and fauna. Likes on the fanpage of the trip www.facebook.com/eneloopambassadorstour have been converted into the appropriate amount (1 like = 1 euro) for the organization Aktionsgemeinschaft Artenschutz (AGA) e.V. (Campaign for Endangered Species), which will collect the collected funds for the protection of cheetahs.

eneloop ambassadors’ tour started on June 22 from Gdansk and end on September 14 in Italy. The relay route passes through twelve European countries, over 6,000 km. Participants overcome the route by choosing the ecological means of transport: on foot, by bicycle or by hitchhiking. To qualify for the grand finale, each team must limit the impact of the trip on the environment, complete three tasks and promote an expedition on Facebook every day. The winning team received a voucher of 2,500 euro to travel some more.

eneloop is the ecological brand of Panasonic Energy Europe. Eneloop batteries are charged using solar energy and can be recharged an average of 2,100 times. Thanks to the higher electrical voltage, these batteries have a more long-lasting effect than traditional batteries. Their resistance to high temperatures makes them an excellent choice for photographers and travelers.
Omega Communication was responsible for media relations related to this event, by initiating radio and television interviews with Ola Buszmak and arranging online publications and in the local press. The project was carried out in partnership with ARK Communication.

Digitization is a process of constant change

22.10.2018

The answer to staff shortages – both those encountered inside the company and those related to the shortage of employees on the market – is automation and digitization of production processes, said Michał Kot, sales director at Siemens, during the European Congress of Small and Medium Size Enterprises. The main barrier to the growth of enterprises is the mentality of managers – and not, as it may seem, the capital – according to the research Smart Industry Poland 2018, carried out jointly by Siemens and the Ministry of Entrepreneurship and Technology, and discussed during the panel “Digitization that pays off”. The Congress, which took place on 17-19th October this year in Katowice, was the biggest event devoted to the SME sector in Europe. Every year, it gathers over 6,000 representatives of businesses, local governments, science and politics, as well as experts from Poland, Europe and the world. The leitmotif of this year’s edition was the slogan: Technology, Human, Responsibility.
